کیت چنتر در ساوت مولتون، دوون به دنیا آمد و در مدرسه گرامر بارن استپل تحصیل کرد. او سال‌ها به عنوان مجری رادیویی، ابتدا برای ایستگاه‌های دریایی رادیو Northsea International و Radio Atlantis و سپس برای ایستگاه‌های تجاری Radio Orwell و Essex Radio کار کرد. او در اواخر دهه 90 با پیوستن به "The Southend" وارد بازیگری شد.
